The process I used for this painting requires a few steps. I started with a digital photo that I took while in Paris right outside of the Pompidou Center. The mirror image of the photo is printed on gum paper that is similar to the back of a postage stamp. The image on gum paper is then transferred to a wood panel that was previously prepared with gesso and matte medium. Lastly, the entire surface is painted in oils selectively maintaining or obscuring textures resultant from the gum transfer.
