All of our news seems to end up first on Facebook these days! I'm even maintaining a photo log of every painting that I paint for 2010. I decided to number my paintings starting in 2009 in the same manner as Paul Klee and many other historical artists did. Each year I start over with number one, 2010.01, 2010.02, etc. Klee was always well into triple digits. Click here to join us on Facebook.
Annie Lee's Oval Office Figurine to Arrive in August
Annie Lee's long awaited Oval Office figurine is soon to arrive in our gallery! We are expecting the figurine to arrive mid-August. This is a fun and historic figurine that captures the essence of the Obama family. The figurine includes the entire first family in the oval office including their new dog, Bo. There are some fun details (as always!) in this figurine including one of Michelle's signature dresses, Barack's basketball and his Blackberry. We will retail this figurine for $85. Call 214.914.3630 or email Laura to reserve a figurine now.

McKinney's Art Festival was a big success!
This year historic downtown McKinney hosted a one day art festival on Saturday, May 30th, with each store spotlighting an artist. Laura Moore Fine Art Studios presented 2 guest artists: Brian J. Magnuson was on-site with his stunning "Cowboys of the Grand Canyon" photographs and local African-American artist Gregory Lavender showcased his most recent work of linoleum block cuts. We also had some new Annie Lee items in stock for this festival. And, oh yeah, there's always my art, too...This was a fun day of art throughout the downtown!
Thank you Dallas Morning News!!!
A big thank you goes out to the Dallas Morning News for featuring our December show "Brian J. Magnuson: Cowboys of the Grand Canyon" in their guide section TWICE in the month of January. Thank you Dallas Morning News and thank you to all of you Dallas folks who travelled up to McKinney to see some art!
Nathaniel Smyth article in Photograph magazine
You may remember Nathaniel Smyth's exhibition at Laura Moore Fine Art Studios from last fall. I am pleased to share that he has recently been featured in the July/August edition of the prestigious Photograph magazine.
Have you seen August Rush?
In June we will have special guest musician, the Grammy award winning guitarist Doug Smith, who was featured in the recent movie August Rush. Doug will be performing with McKinney's own incredible guitarist, John Wynn. This is a show that you don't want to miss! You can also hear John and Doug's music on Friday night, June 13th, at Chestnut Square.
