James Malones latest two dimensional work conceptually explores the unapparent connections among his favorite subject matters: Big Bend, West Texas landscapes, animals and iconography to expose a new depth, inviting the viewer to consider additional dimensions.
Field Notes from another Brane, Malones nod to string theory, attests to the existence of unobservable dimensions or the possibility of multiple universes. In every piece, Malones bold graphite and colored ink strokes push and prod the paper into another realm, coaxing it to be more and say more.
New York native Malone graduated from the University of New York and continued his graduate studies at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth where he resides today. His work has been featured in galleries and museums across the nation, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
