The "Doors in Villages" exhibition was featured in our McKinney gallery last December - January 2007. Several originals are still available for purchase and archival quality prints are available for selected watercolors. Images denoted as "private collection" are no longer available for purchase.
On my first trip to Paris I spent several days walking alone in the city looking at all of the interesting doors that seemed to exist on nearly every building. I'd always liked and photographed doors, but the architectural elements of the doors in Europe took my interest to a whole new level. This exhibition features paintings and etchings of doors that were made based on photographs that I took while travelling to France, Italy and Greece.
There is one exception. I also included door images from my hometown of Pinckneyville, Illinois, in the two paintings of Millie's doors.
