The Noble Rot
Just as the French celebrate the benevolent fungus, Botrytis cinerea, that heightens the sugar content in the grapes used to produce their delectable Sauternes, i.e. the noble rot, Moore delights in “ruining the pristine translation of the original wine label.” This series is not about replicating a wine label design, but rather translating the personal experience of the pleasure of sharing specific wines during celebratory times with friends into a visual representation of that memory.
The expressionist wine label paintings are an ongoing series for Moore.
Commissions are accepted for wines that are memorable to you. The price for a commission is the same as her series paintings with one exception. You have to donate a bottle of the wine.
